South Congress is one of Austin's most walkable neighborhoods. Restaurants, bars, shops, and venues on Congress Avenue and the surrounding streets are close by. Your car can become optional, not essential. Coffee culture is strong, with multiple third-wave coffee shops, roasters, and cafes within walking distance.
Dining and nightlife
SoCo has some of Austin's best restaurants, from food trucks to upscale dining. Bars range from dive bars to cocktail lounges. Live music venues are scattered throughout, from The Continental Club to smaller venues on Rainey Street. You are in the middle of Austin's social scene.
